Adjunct and Overload Pay

Full-time faculty on a 9-month contract are paid at the Adjunct rate for all Working Units (WU) beyond the 15 WU (9-month contracts) and 18 WU (12-month contracts) per semester. Upon recommendation by the Divisional Dean and approval of the Vice President of Instruction, full-time faculty may accept an overload up to six (6) WU each fall and spring semester for additional compensation. In special circumstances, the Vice President of Instruction will approve overloads over six (6) Working Units. Since this is extra work for extra pay, faculty members are expected to perform all regular duties and responsibilities and still maintain the quality of instruction and services.

Adjunct faculty and overloads will be paid according to the Adjunct rate.

Adjunct faculty are limited to nine (9) Working Units per fall and spring semester and eight (8) WU per each 5-week summer session.

The basis for adjunct and overload pay shall be the hourly teaching rate as specified in the College’s salary schedule.
