ESOL-0023 Essential English Grammar and Writing
This non-course competency based (NCBO) developmental intervention helps strengthen grammar and writing weaknesses typically encountered by advanced ESOL students. Examples of such issues include use of proper tense, formation of a variety of clauses, and paragraph development. The two-hour NCBO is intended as a companion intervention to complement materials taught in ENGL-1301 (Composition I). The purpose of concurrent enrollment is to support ESOL exited students in first-year course Composition I. Grading is based on pass/fail. A passing grade will certify a student as college ready in Reading and Writing. THECB 32 contact hrs. =2 SCH
