MLAB-1315 Hematology

The study of blood cells in normal and abnormal conditions. Instruction in the theory and practical application of hematology procedures, including quality control, quality assurance, safety, manual and/or automated methods as well as blood cell maturation sequences, and normal and abnormal morphology with associated diseases. Prerequisites: Admission to MLT program, BIOL-2301, MATH-1342, and ENGL-1301. Lec 2, Lab 6, Cr 4

  1. Apply principles of safety, quality assurance and quality control in Hematology.
  2. Evaluate specimen acceptability.

  5. Evaluate normal and abnormal cell morphology with associated diseases.
